NEOWIZ has accidentally removed Denuvo from Lies of P
Along with some free content for Lies of P, it appears that the developers have also removed Denuvo by accident.

You'd think there'd be stronger checks in place internally to ensure devs aren't pushing debug builds with no Denuvo .exe to Steam. Crazy how this isn't even the first instance of it happening either. We've had Wild Hearts and Gotham Knights in the past.

Even with a denuvoless build out there, I thought they'd still keep it until after the DLC came out

I guess it was more a case of a dev build that doesn't use Denuvo (because why would it) ended up getting pushed to the default Steam channel. And because that dev build at this point probably is the full game, keeping Denuvo on the official release is a bit pointless because pirates already have the DRM-less version.
Devs will have builds like this uploaded to distribution platforms all the time for ease of testing. In this case I guess someone just mixed up which build was meant to be pushed to live and bobby becomes one's uncle
*Speaking from Indie dev SteamWorks experience myself

Yeah I edited my post right after I posted. I know why it happens but it's wild that it's happened three times now. Folks getting a little lax lol.

I applaud the publisher for taking quick action, some idiot publishers still have Denuvo on their games after a cracked copy is available, making it entirely pointless and a detriment to paying customers. Also, Denuvo has done its job, it is kinda pointless 5 months after release, it is mostly valuable for launch to prevent early leaks and for the first month or so.

Heheh the wild thing is that Steam recently added measures that require 2FA for every build pushed to the default (live) channel that, ideally, should require both the person pushing the update and the approver to be able to catch the mistake, but if they've got all of that down to one person - It's moot and an added annoyance.
There are definitely some small SOP changes happening within that dev after this I'm sure 😜

My favorite example of drm-breaking mistakes is when the EA preload for FF XV included all the files without the executable, and then the steam demo included a drm free executable, and iirc a group made a crack for the EA preload using said executable, so you could play the game drm free before launch I think.
Good on LoP dev for at least officially removing the DRM though. Kinda the opposite of Capcom adding DRM to games that have been cracked for years.

Dark Souls debug leaks: you can now play as Artorias of the Abyss
The debug version of Dark Souls enables all kinds of in-game oddness.

Even worse is when they sell a DRM-free version on GOG, but leave the DRM in the Steam version.
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided (2016) still has Denuvo on Steam.
