of the excellent job he's done as president and stepping aside, acknowledging that vice president harris would have a better a better shot at the presidency. creates a lot of goodwill for president biden will be off the stage though after tomorrow. and the rest will be about kamala harris and and tim waltz and the other heavyweights in the party. >> we have a whole lot to watch this week for the dnc and we'll be bringing you the latest coverage. so make sure you stick with us. well said of the south bay, a woman dead after being hit by a vehicle in san jose. this is now the city's 30nd fatal collision of the year last night, police responded to the area of snell avenue capitol expressway around 10, 30. they found that woman who was hit by a car. she was taken to the hospital where she died. the driver remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation. the bicyclist who was struck by a car in san jose is in critical condition. police say that person in critical condition after they were hit by that car. this is on south jackson avenue around

9 yesterday morning. the victim taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. the driver is cooperating with police and that incident. police department investigating a hit and run crash involving a bicyclist that happened yesterday. this is the 4900 block of broadway at 11:00am police arrived. they found that bicyclists hurt from when they were hit by the car. the driver not stop after the crash and drove away. the bicyclist was treated for their injuries at the scene. 3 people are dead after a car crashed into a concrete barrier. this happen, fremont, according to chp. the crash happened just before 6 yesterday. this is 1, 8, 80 at warren avenue crossing. the 3 passengers died at the scene. we don't have any other details on what caused that crash. they haven't been released just yet. san jose police releasing details on funeral services for officer long fam. you might remember officer pham was killed while directing traffic around a car crash by suspected drunk

driver that celebration of life schedule friday, august 30th at 11:00am. it's going to be at the s ap center on santa clara street in san jose. and the san francisco fire department rescued a man from a sure pie. they're ocean beach. fire department says around 3.40, yesterday morning got a call about a man screaming for help near manhole on the upper great highway vinci and tay street. fire officials say the man somehow crawled into a pipe where he fell on his hand strapped 20 feet underground, took first responders yulee 2 hours to get him out. he had to be taken to the hospital where he pretty serious injuries. well, the east bay, there are pretty high levels of lead reported drinking water. nearly 2 dozen oakland unified schools. this all according to reports down all the way back in the spring. some of the levels are 10 to 20 times the allowed rate. but teachers in paris say they were notified last week and you had students that were in

course of this week's forecast. this secondary low that drops in later on this week. really upping the opportunity of another round of early-season showers towards the upcoming weekend, really talking friday into saturday, mostly north of the bay area. but taking a look at future cast, we do have a few sprinkles kicking up on thursday for your weekend. and then that potential drops a little bit further southward. mostly santa rosa northward. but yet again, a chance of some light shower activity and another opportunity for and around the park fire to burning just north east of chico. so another little round of this kind nice to be seeing this as we make our way into the latter half of august. now. now futurecast does show that north northwest wind continuing today. we will be looking another fairly mild day today with daytime highs comfortably in a range of 60's to 80's the onshore breeze tonight into tomorrow morning will result in a couple patches of fog. but overall, a pretty similar day tomorrow.

tomorrow's daytime highs are actually going to be the warmest of this week's forecast. a brief heat spike before we see temps dropping again. as for today's temperatures, things are going to look a little familiar. a % couple of degrees up from yesterday, antioch in concord to 87 livermore, san jose, morgan hill, santa rosa among spots in the 80's. well, 60's towards the coast and mostly 70's along the bay shore today. nobody's quite getting up to 90 degrees in today's forecast, a look ahead shows daytime highs tomorrow reaching the low 90's. but that's the only day this week will be doing so temperatures after that will settle way down into the low 80's at the warmest by thursday and friday in saturday, even bringing a chance of some mist drizzle and showers, at least to the north bay. as for your roads, it is still smooth sailing out there. nice to see morning. that's cooperating so far. of course, it is still very early. so a lot of time for that to change. 8 minutes across the bay bridge, san mateo bridge at 12 minutes

live in san francisco with more on that. good morning, michael. >> hi, good morning, everyone. an exciting day. there's about 50,000 students here in san francisco set to go back to the classroom. but it all comes as the district faces a huge budget deficit along with some school closures and mergers that are set to come next year. take a look. we've got video up on your screen so i can break it all down. and now this budget deficit is set to be around 400 million dollars with san francisco school district officials trying to figure out which schools to close and which to merge next year. in total, the district has 121 schools all set to receive a composite score based on 3 categories. 25% on excellence. another 25 on affected houston resources. and lastly, 50% on equity. now, officials with the district say enrollment has dropped by more than 4,000 students since the 2017, 2018 school year. and they're projected to lose about 4600 more by 2030, to the superintendent is set to announce more on the
